AAUW strives to empower women as individuals and as a community in order to improve the lives of millions of women and their families. Membership in AAUW can make a difference in achieving the goal of removing educational and economic barriers for women and girls. The benefits to the individual are enormous spanning both personal enrichment and satisfaction in helping to improve equity for woman and personal gain through resources that directly provide assistance to members.
Membership in the American Association of University Women (AAUW) is open to all graduates who hold an associateʼs degree or higher from a qualified educational institution. Associate degree holders are individuals who graduated and received an AA degree, as well as RNʼs who have received a diploma from a regionally accredited college or university. The category of Student Affiliate has been created for those currently working toward a baccalaureate degree.
AAUW Littleton-South Metro dues are $85.00 for regular members. This includes $59.00 Association/National dues, $10.00 State dues, and $16.00 Branch dues. Our fiscal year is July 1 through June 30. Student Affiliate dues are $27.81. Dual members belong to more than one branch and pay branch dues for each membership, as well as state dues for one or both of the memberships. If both memberships are in the same state, then only one payment of state dues is required. If memberships are in different states, then dues must be paid to each state. An AAUW National Life Membership allows a member to pay $1180 for 20 years of National dues in one lump sum that is fully tax deductible. In addition, they would also pay state and branch dues on a yearly basis. Members who have paid dues for 50 years are granted Honorary Life Membership, and all membership dues are waived. Memberships are transferable to and from other AAUW branches.
