What better way to spend a summer afternoon in June than sitting beside a pool with friends and in-dulging in an ice cream sundae. On June 16th we will celebrate the 50th anniversary of our branch with an old fashioned ‘ice-cream social.’ These events date back to the ice cream gardens of the 18th century and evolved into community ice cream socials as ice cream became more affordable. ‘Social’ is the key word for us and we hope that you will take the op- portunity to come, relax, and spend time with other branch members at this informal gathering. Besides the ice cream, we will enjoy a short presentation by Betsy Loague, AAUW’s State Archivist, who will explain the role that our branch has played in the evolution of the organization in Colorado. So, please join us as we commemorate 50 years of an AAUW branch in the Littleton-South Metro area.
